SMCC – Silicified MicroCrystalline

Silicified microcrystalline cellulose, is a unique combination of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) and colloidal silicon dioxide (CSD). A high functionality and multifunctional excipient, it requires less complex processing, has high inherent functionality, and passes that functionality on to the drug formulation.

Magnesium Stearate

Magnesium  stearate is often used as a anti-adherent in the manufacture of medical tablets,  capsules and powders. In this regard, the substance is also useful, because it  has lubricating properties, preventing ingredients from sticking to  manufacturing equipment during the compression of chemical powders into solid tablets; magnesium stearate is the most commonly used lubricant for tablets.  Magnesium stearate is used in the pharmaceutical drugs in order to bind tablets and make them smooth as well as shinier.  Magnesium stearate has been graded to be a safe chemical compound, with no side effects known. Several foods use magnesium stearate as an additive or preservative. This particular chemical helps make our Microcrystalline Cellulose Ready Mix Tablet Binder produce a hard, shiny product.
Stearic Acid
The presence of stearic acid improves the floating behavior for more than 8 hours. The hydration volume, the tablet hardness and the ejection pressure decrease as the stearic acid content increases and the polymer content decreases. Drug dissolution increases with increasing proportions of stearic acid and decreasing proportions of the polymer in the tablets.
